Gregory Adam Financial Management Limited (GAFM) is a firm of Independent Financial Advisers.

A very well respected firm within the financial services industry, we were established in 1986 and have continued to expand to the current time.

We own purpose built modern offices in Portishead, with excellent links to the major motorway networks of the M4 (London and Wales) and the M5 (South West and Midlands).

We have strong professional connections both locally and nationally with leading Accountancy and Legal firms.  We also work closely with the professional advisers of individual clients, to ensure that clients are offered a fully integrated service for all their financial planning needs. As Independent Financial Advisers we are able to access a full range of products and services, so that we can tailor a solution that is right for each individual client.

We have a reputation for very personal and professional service and this is a reputation we strive to maintain.

Tim Strawbridge (Director)

Tim joined GAFM Ltd in 1991, having started his career in financial services in 1982.  He has extensive financial services experience and is fully qualified including holding the coveted G60 pensions paper.  Since 1991, Tim has developed Gregory Adam Financial Management into the professional IFA firm that it is today, offering a full range of advice from simple family protection cover to high net worth investments and complex pension arrangements, both for individual and corporate clients.

Tim also offers a specialist consultation service, offering financial planning, tax advice and other guidance on a range of Private Practice issues for medical physicians and surgeons.

In his spare time, Tim enjoys playing golf and improving his knowledge of prestige cars.

Mark Ireland (Director)

Mark joined Gregory Adam in 2003, following the acquisition of the Wynchgate Financial Services Ltd (WFS) client bank, where he was a Director. His industry experience spans two decades, including a spell as a broker consultant for leading pensions provider, Britannia Life (later taken over by Alba Life).

Mark is fully qualified in the industry holding both the Associateship of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) which is the highest award offered by examination by the Institute and also the Diploma of the Personal Finance Society, awarded as Mark has achieved the full Advanced Financial Planning Certificate (AFPC).

Mark has a wide range of knowledge and has particular expertise in the area of trustee investment, both for private individual trust arrangements and also for pension trusts, such as Small Self Administered Schemes, and Self Invested Personal Pensions.

Mark is a keen tennis player and cyclist. He has ridden many routes and raised many thousands of pounds for local charities. His achievements include Bristol to Lands End (twice!) and several other slightly mad rides including a 2009 route taking him from Bristol through the mountains of Snowdonia.

Phil Shrimpton (Director)

Phil started his industry career in the 1980’s with Refuge Assurance and following a successful spell as a broker consultant with Guardian Royal Exchange commenced working as an IFA in 1994.

Phil is fully AFPC qualified and is a member of the Institute of Financial Planning. He offers a fully holistic financial advice service to both individuals and companies. He has close ties with a local solicitors and accountants
and has developed many solutions in conjunction with these professional connections.

Phil does not have much spare time, as he is very involved with bringing up his young family! When he does manage to escape he likes to relax on a golf course, or catching up with the latest cricket or football scores.

Trish Bloodworth (Technical Manager)

Trish commenced her career at Phoenix Assurance as a life underwriter, before moving into the brokerage industry. Following a career break to have children, Trish returned to the world of finance in 1996 as a Technical Support Manager at Gregory Adam.

Trish holds the Associateship of the Chartered Insurance Institute, and also several technical IT awards. In her current role, she assists the advisers in research and keeping up to date with the many changes in the financial services industry.

As well as time with her family, Trish also enjoys spending any available hours with her dogs and pony; getting up at ridiculous hours to sort them out before work!

Our Team

We have an experienced and professional administration team who assist in the day to day administration of clients’ needs. Our team all hold qualifications in financial services papers, and offer a wide range of support to the Directors and Technical Manager.
